How to Apply to PYP & MYP

For the academic year 2016/2017 we only have spots in MYP1 and MYP2. If you meet the criteria below and have completed an online application, the waiting list will open after August 15, 2016. Until then the admission office is closed and no applications will be processed. At ISSR we have around 20% of student turnover/student mobility so please apply if you meet the rules and admission criteria.

Before starting to fill out the online application you need to make sure you meet all criteria in Step 1.

Step 1

Make sure the application meets our admission criteria (see below).
By meeting our criteria, you need to be able to answer YES to the following questions:

  • You have a short term employment contract or limited employment contract stating your starting date and ending date in Sweden
  • You live or you are planning to live within the municipality of Stockholm

The only exception is if your child will start in Grade 8 (MYP3) or 9 (MYP4) and has attended an English speaking International School abroad for a major part of their education, then you also meet our admission criteria.

Both legal guardians of the child you are applying for should agree to the application.
Parents can only apply maximum 9 months prior the start of the child(ren) at ISSR.

For the academic year 2016/2017 starting in August 2016, most classes are already full so if we can't confirm we will put your child's application on the waiting list. Applications can only stay on the waiting list for one term, after that the application will be declined/ rejected with no further notice if your temporary status is not valid.  If you would like to keep you child on the waiting list, you will have to apply again if your temporary status is valid for another academic year.

Step 2

If you meet the admission criteria, you are now eligible to fill out our online application.
For your online application to be considered complete (incomplete application will be rejected), you must upload the following requested documents (in pdf format):

  • Your/ your spouse's short term employment contract or limited employment contract stating your starting date and ending date in Sweden
  • Your child’s latest term transcripts/school report or kindergarten report

Step 3

You have now submitted an online application and you can now expect the following:
Within 10 days the application will be processed by us, provided it is complete, and we will let you know the status of your child’s application by giving you the following options:

  • Admitted: Your child can start in the coming weeks and we have a spot – you will receive a confirmation message and checklist to be complete on the application
  • Waiting list: You meet the rules but there is no spot at the moment, or you have applied for the academic year 2016/2017 – we will come back to you in May if we have spots for the coming academic year.
  • Rejected: you don’t meet the rules

Please note, we can only confirm places when we have confirmation of your Stockholm address. We are only able to accept applications from students who are or will be living within certain Stockholm areas. These do change from term to term.
